Hey there! I’m glad you decided to visit my blog. This past week I did a collab with my jumprope partner, Melody. We had a lot of fun asking and answering each other’s questions! Make sure to visit her blog and check out all her awesome posts over there. For now here is the collab:
(Melody’s questions are in bold and my answers are in italics)
If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time
2. What’s your favorite piece of clothing you own / owned?
Well when I was younger I had this purple flowered shirt and white tights that I would wear ALL the time! I literally refused to wear anything else!
3. What hobby would you get into if time and money weren’t an issue?
Gymnastics. I absolutely LOVE watching the Olympic gymnasts, and think it would be so cool to be able to do all that the gymnasts are able to.
4. What would your perfect room look like?
It would have lots and lots of windows. It would be a modern, bright, white, look with a few splashes of color. But most important of ALL it would have a wardrobe that opens into a libabry with floor to ceiling bookshelves, a fire place, and lots of comfortable seating!
5. How often do you play sports?
Well I PLAY sport “games” (like volleyball, soccer, football, etc.) rarely ever. However, I workout, run, or jumprope every single day-except Sundays.
6. What fictional place would you most like to go?
7. What job would you be terrible at?
A surgeon. I would like to be a nurse–blood doesn’t bother me. But there is something about cutting into someone’s body and their life being in my hands that just makes me draw the line there.
8. When was the last time you climbed a tree?
Wow! It’s been a long time! Not because I dont like climbing trees but because I live in the desert so there are no trees here (unless you call a few-feet-high bush a tree!).
9. If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning medal for?
Reading a book the fastest!
10. What is the most annoying habit that other people have?
Burping. I dont know if that is considered a habit but is absolutely gets on my nerves whenever anyone does that!
11. What job do you think you’d be really good at?
12. What skill would you like to master?
13. What would be the most amazing adventure to go on?
Hiking Mt. Everest
14. What is the most heartwarming thing you’ve ever seen?
I once read a story and saw a picture of a cat who was badly injured (her ears were burned off, and her eyes were swollen shut) in a fire because she kept going back into the burning building to rescue her kittens. And the best part was: they all survived because of their mom’s courage!
15. What is something that a ton of people are obsessed with but you just don’t get the point of?
Lord of the Rings
(Now MY questions are in bold and her answers are in italics)
1. What is your favorite part of blogging?
Probably playing around with different designs for the blog. I think that’s super cool. Oh also, talking to other awesome people like you, Arianna, and Annika.
2. What types of blogs do you like to read/follow?
I like book blogs like yours. That’s because I like seeing what you guys enjoy reading and your opinions on books. It’s also a good way to find books that you want to read.
3. I know you enjoy speech and debate–what are your favorite topics to debate?
This is my second year in speech and debate so I have only debated two topics. My first year it was whether the USFG should reform its transportation policy or not. This year is whether the USFG should reform its foreign aid. Out of those two topics, my favourite would be transportation. However, among friends I often have debates about random stuff like whether it is good to sleep with pillows or not. (IT IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
4. What is your favorite subject in school and why?
My favourite subject in school right now…HMMM…does gym count? If gym counts, it would be my favourite subject. If not, my favourite subject would be Science or Writing. If Speech counts as a subject that would DEFINITELY be my favourite subject.
5. If you were given the choice to do anything/go anywhere for one day what/where would you do/go?
I really really really really really really really really really really want to go to Taiwan. I would just go there and walk around and eat Taiwanese food. I just love everything about Taiwan (from what I know and have heard.)
6. What are your favorite types of books to read?
My favourite genre? Probably historical fiction. I like it when an author take things that happened and then expands them to turn even a simple idea into a captivating and interesting story.
7. What is your favorite book series?
My favourite book series? Well, for a long time I was obsessed with Laura Ingalls Wilder. Currently though, I don’t have a favourite series. Also, the Rush Revere series was awesome. I don’t know what my favourite series is.
8. If you could know the absolute and total truth to one question, what question would you ask?
OOOH. That is an incredibly hard yet genius question. I would want to know the answer to the question: When will I die? That way I could tell other people and just prepare for it. Make sure I do everything on my bucket list before then.
9. What fictional world would you want to visit?
Well, I want to go to Emerald City (from the wizard of oz.) That would be super fun. Also, Neverland from Peter Pan. It would be great never growing up. And Swallow Falls. Although I don’t love eating it would be awesome to live in a world where food just fell down from the sky and it snowed ice cream. (As long as I didn’t have the allergies that I do now.) Oh, Ariel’s underwater kingdom. There are so many non-existent places I want to go.
10. What’s the best way to start a day?
The best way to start the day is writing in a gratitude journal. I got one many years ago and I write in it every morning three things that I am grateful for. If you start off the day in a grateful mood it definitely makes your day better.
11. What book, movie, or story impacted you the most?
The story that impacted me the most is the story of Bethany Hamilton. If you aren’t familiar with her story, she was a christian homeschooled teenager in Hawaii. She liked to surf and on Halloween when she was 13, she was surfing and got attacked by a Tiger Shark. She lost her arm because of the attack. However, she chose to continue living her life to the fullest. She quotes Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
12. Among your friends or family, what are you famous for?
I guess I am more infamous among my fam and friends. There is actually two different things. So the first thing I am infamous for in my family, is leaving the oven on when it should be off and turning the oven off when it is supposed to be on. Funny story: We were going to a friend’s house and we were supposed to bring cooked chicken breasts for something. I was in my room getting ready and I walked out, saw the oven on, thought, “Oh this shouldn’t be on!” and I turned it off. Because in the past I had been corrected for forgetting to turn the oven off even when I was no longer using it. It comes time to go my mom comes into the kitchen and opens the oven to pull the chicken out. She notices that it is off and is like, “Good, the chicken is done.” BUT ACTUALLY. It wasn’t. I just turned the oven off so it wasn’t ready. We ended up being late all because I turned the oven off. That has happened multiple times. I am infamous among my friends for turning my chemistry class upside down. OK, that never actually happened. HOWEVER, every chemistry class I do where we are handling anything I always do something bad. One of my very first classes, I was sitting with this girl and we accidentally spilled a bottle of coke, which we were using for an experiment, all over the table. On one occasion I accidentally broke a beaker. Most recently, last class I started a fire. We were trying to identify what type of bond an unknown chemical was by observing certain features of it. We were testing whether the chemical could melt or not. We used an aluminum pie pan (as instructed) and put the chemical in it. We were following the instructions and we placed the aluminum pan on the burner. (It’s supposed to be able to cook.) UNFORTUNATELY, the chemical did indeed melt. It melted through the pan, onto the burner, and then started sparking. It sparked and caught the aluminum pan on fire. We were able to put it out and nobody was harmed at all. Life tip: if it’s your first time in a class do NOT spill coke all over your desk or do anything else crazy. 😀
13. What movie can you watch over and over without ever getting tired of?
I am not really into movies. I can watch some YouTubes over and over again without getting tired of them. Some jumprope YouTubes that are realllllllly cool.
14. If someone narrated your life, who would you want to be the narrator?
15. If you could go back to Bible times what event would you want to live through?
I would want to live through Luke chapter 8. That is the chapter where Jesus calms the storm. I would probably be terrified and freak out if I was there. But I think that would be really neat. OR the time when Jesus healed the little girl in Mark chapter 5.
I LOOOOVED your questions!!!!!!!!!!!
